In 1976, Deltona started building seawalls again with another new method. They were constructed with six inch slabs, reinforced tie rods which were dipped in epoxy and encased in plastic tubes. They started quality control, and probed to see how long slabs had to be. Most slabs were 12 feet in length, some as long as 14 feet. These newer designed seawalls were constructed in units 5, 6, 11, 12, and 23.
